FERRELL, George E., 67, of Chesterfield, formerly of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully September 26, 2009. He is survived by his son, Scot C. Ferrell; grandson, David S. Ferrell; niece, Susan; nephew, Jonathan; and friend and companion, Christine. His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.

As youngsters growing up in Virginia Beach, George and I were very close friends. As we became older we went in different directions and apart so we haven't seen one another in many years. My memories of George are youthful and happy times. An old Plymouth automobile, goofy hat, WGH radio playing the hits of the late 50s, hanging out at the beach, good times...
I extend my sympathy and love to all who will miss him.
