Not sure what to say?

I was very stunned to hear about George's quick passing. Such a wonderful person who, for me, was such an important part of my eleven years in Chicago. It was hearing his stories of growing up in Chicago, living in S.F., teaching, and of his many travels that endeared me to Chicago forever. To me, he will always exemplify the greatness of Chicago - City of Big Shoulders...a lot like George indeed! I'll never forget his wonderful dinners - especially his pork roast which to this day I...

Even though I wasn't extremely close to "Uncle George", I will always have fond memories of him. No, it was not my 39th birthday party...but it was a great party because George was there. Thank God we alll got together two weeks ago.

George at Dolores Hanan's 39th birthday party

We so enjoyed George's company! He was interested in everything, thoroughly engaging, and loved politics as much as we. Wish you could vote in November George!

George,

Besides introducing me to architecture, classical music, Minocqua, beautiful cars, Chicago, and so much more, you were a great friend, mentor, and role model. Although I will be unable to attend the service, I am glad I had the chance to see you last week to say good-bye. I miss you already.

George, you were such a great friend for many years. You will be missed very much
