Dear Mrs. Frank,

I came to know George because we shared Arnold Rothstein as an analyst for a while, and we used to meet up as I walked (and George ran) around the Reservoir. It was, I think, only two months ago that our paths crossed at the Pump House, and we agreed to have coffee one day. I was to call George, but alas, it never happened.

We never spent more than 40 minutes at a time together, but happily there were quite a few times, and I came to have the greatest...

I send my condolances on George's passing. He was my teacher and advisor. His sharp mind, playfulness along with his sense of compassion made George a unique and wonderful man. As his advisee sharing many hours with him was a delight. In that space where we played and argued about ideas he nurtured and encouraged me to take risks and grow. Please accept my condolences on this loss. I have worked with Frank for many years at NYU and had always found him to be a caring and bright man, who helped many doctoral students make it through a difficult time. May his memory be for a blessing.
