On behalf of the Massachusetts Chess Association, I extend my condolences to the Guertin family on the passing of a very kind and generous man. George Guertin played a key role in creating and providing trophies and plaques for both our scholastic and adult chess tournaments throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 90s. His creations were of first-rate quality and were well received by our event winners. He was greatly respected. We will all miss him very much.
