I am very late in offering my condolences, but count me as one of the many of Dr. Haik's patients for whom he will be greatly missed and upon whom he made a tremendous impression. I had been seeing Dr. Haik for over a decade -- since when I moved to New Orleans. Not only was he a spectacular physician and meticulous in his attention to detail and care for his patients, but he and I exchanged communications about scientific and medical publications of mutual interest. Dr. George Haik was the best eye doctor I have ever had. I've had vision problems for over 50 years and he was unsurpassed. He will be greatly missed.

I am very sad to hear of Dr. Haik Jr. passing. He was the kindest and most patient doctor. He treated you as if you were his only patient. He always had time to talk about any issue. He clearly explained any issue and would take the time to discuss anything you needed to talk about. He was always up on the latest information and was just wonderful. We were friends at Country Day. A frequent guest at his home, I had the pleasure of knowing his family. Maybe this will be news: He introduced me to my future wife in 1975 at Pat O'Brien's! He tapped a girl on her shoulder & said 'My friend wants to meet you.' I guess he was a prophet! Pam & I married four years later.
