Not sure what to say?

Dr. Hallam was my favorite professor at Jacksonville University. I took his English 101 course freshman year and he made it something special through his easy manner and enthusiasm to awaken something in his students. I suspect with English 101 he was mostly polishing stones, but I think every once in a while he was able to bring forth a gem! I know he made me want to work harder just because I didn’t want to let him down.

I can’t remember most of my freshman professors, but Dr....

Dear Scott and Family - Please accept my kind thoughts and prayers upon your Dad's passing. I remember your Dad as an intelligent, sensitive, and kind man who obviously had a positive impact on the lives of many students and friends.

Dear Hallam Family, George and I were fellow faculty at JU and George was a great supporter of the Theatre Dept..I know you've heard tales of Swisher productions and I'll always remember George as the Ragpicker in our production of Madwoman of Chaillot..Marcy and I had lots of fun with George, too, when he came to The Entertainer to shop...and the JU reunions at our home..He is sorely missed by us, and I'm sure by everyone whose life he touched..friends, family and certainly students. God...

Deepest sympathies for your loss. Take comfort in knowing he has a special place in his former students' hearts and memories. We still treasure the time when he was our teacher and friend. God's peace to you.

We remember Dr. Hallam very well from the early 70's on as a kind and gentle man and a wonderful, patient Professor. Dr. Hallam certainly impacted many students over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire Family.

I have so many fond memories of Dr. Hallam. Being a secretary in JU's College of Fine Arts (Theatre, Arts & Dance) I knew of Dr. Hallam's interest in the JU theatre program. I also knew him through my own children (esp. Lee who was an English major) who attended JU.

My condolences go out to each one of you - the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was a student of Dr. Hallam's at JU
and after reviewing papers I had written,he inspired me to write and submit pieces for publication to national magazines. I did so, and
fortunately had a number of articles
published. I later told him about it,
and he wrote me a letter of congratulations and told me it was a
great accomplishment. He did, indeed, leave his mark on many, many people.

Dear Hallam family,

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Hallam's passing. He was an important part of my experience at JU. Over the years as I've thought about JU, Dr. Hallam has often come to mind. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.
