George was such a beautiful player and man. He had a warmth to his sound that I have never heard in another orchestral flutist. Such a sweet man and colleague. We will all miss him.

My! Even with George Hambrecht's passing I can still hear his witticism and whimsical repartees with my husband, Ed Wuebold, Jr., retired percussionist/ tympanist.
For many years when both of them played and toured with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra they shared many bus rides and airline flights which George peppered with his inimitable humor and benevolent personality.
