George J. "Jack" Haney, Sr. 96, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Alma, as well as his parents and 4 brothers and 1 sister and 1 grandchild, Jeffrey Haney. He is survived by his sons Everett and Jane Haney, Olathe, KS, Jack and Cheryl Haney Jr., Oak Brook, IL, and daughter Joyce and Jim Hunter, Littleton, CO, as well as 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was manager of the Bus Depot in Salina for many years. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Salina. He was also an avid Boy Scout leader and served in the Army during World War II. Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 10:00 am Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Visitation will be at Roselawn Memorial Park 2-7 pm with family from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorials may be made to in care of Roselawn Mortuary, PO Box 2322, Salina, 67402.
As a first cousin of Alma, I have many fond memories of Jack and Alma as I was growing up. They made our world a brighter place. I will always remember them with a smile. My thoughts are with you Joyce, Everett and Jackie as you say goodbye. Sincerely, Eva
