This one hurt, and it took me a few days to reflect and gather my thoughts. The Hartwick´s were a staple in my early life, and I have fond memories of Big George. His combination of toughness and kindness is all-too-rare. Growing up across the street, George was an imposing figure. Tougher than a two-dollar steak, but a warm and welcoming person, with a great sense of humor. My entire life, I´ve heard folks talk about the greatness of "old-school Steelton guys." I never appreciated what that...

I was so saddened to read this today. As I care for my father, I share many memories of his friends and great times had by all at the Penn Harris gun club. George was loved by many. Prayers for comfort and peace for all who knew him.
