Dear George's Family Around the World,

George's funeral was one of the most moving experiences of my San Diego life. It was an honor to hear George's history, the eloquent tributes by Jan and other family and friends, the music and jokes, and the powerful video made of family photographs. The photo of young George and Janette took my breath away. How stunningly beautiful a couple! But it was the photos of George and his pug Barney that made me weep hardest.

To say George is gone is true, though not in our memory.

One of our fondest recollections of George was when he did a very difficult plumbing job at our house. I know to George, the jobs were nothing to him and prevailed upon him to let us pay him for his time. Goeorge said to us "I don't take money from friends." To us that spoke volumes.
