HETZER, George W. - Of Clio, age 67, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM Monday, January 28, 2008 at St. Charles & Helena Catholic Church, 230 East Vienna Street, Clio, Father Jerry Ploof officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Morris. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Charles & Helena Catholic Church. Visitation 1-8PM Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Hetzer will be at the church from 9:30AM Monday until the time of the Mass. George was born in Flint, Michigan on May 7, 1940, the son of Wilbur and Edna (Skinner) Hetzer. He married Bonnie Blaska in Flint on February 11, 1961. He enjoyed old cars, going to car shows and was a car body repairman for 40 years. He was a member of St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Surviving are wife, Bonnie; 4 sons, Scott, Greg and wife Lori, Brad, Brian and wife Nicole, all of Clio; daughter, Lori Stevenson, of Clio; grandchildren, Derrick, Ashley, Aaron, Austin, Ally, Kalee, Joey, Connor and Toni; great-granddaughter, Madelyn; sisters, Pat Andrews of St. Ignace and Nancy Warton of Swartz Creek; brother, Bob and wife JoAnn Hetzer of Otisville; many special brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and a host of special friends. Bonnie and family--Thinking of you as I often do/ sure you know I am only a phone call away. My LOVE and Sympathy goes out to you and your loved ones. George, I know you heard my voice on the phone on thursday when Diane put the phone on your ear. I'm sorry that my problems kept me from being there too, But at Least I got Diane, Debbie & Teresa up there in my absence. I am Soooo Happy I was up there last Fall and got to spend a couple of Days with you. The Car shows were a lot of fun that we went to.
