George T. Hrbek

I will always treasure the years I spent working for George at the County Department of Human Services. Thank you for sharing this amazing man with us.

George was a life changer for me when I was in a program out of Valparaiso U. in Chicago the summer of 1968. So thankful for his life which changed both lives and the conditions in which people live.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. So glad I had the chance to spend time with George, he was such a sweet soul and so fun to be around.

Director Hrbek, which is what I always called him even after knowing him for 30+ years. Although we started our journey with me reporting to him it soon became apparent that our relationship would stand the test of time where George soon became a father figure as well as my true mentor.
