Not sure what to say?

Ditto what my sister Nancy said. Thank you for the comments. My Dad was such a likable guy. I can't think of anyone that didn't like him. He enjoyed joking around and giving people a hard time all in fun. I didn't know about the hard boiled egg story either. Funny! We his kids were honored and blessed to have him as our Dad.

I do not recall ever meeting George Keck, but he sounds like a well-loved individual and family man, as well as being very active serving others. I am pleased that he has a great surviving family, even great-grandchildren. I acknowledge the passing of a great man.

I grew up near Orland on a dairy farm about 6 miles east of town. It felt good to get off the farm in 1960 while I was in high school.

Thank you for the awesome comments made here.
I had never heard that story about my Dad and the hard boiled eggs!
He was proud of his service in the Marines and used to sing the Marine song, ("From the Halls of Montezuma, etc..." a lot,so I have it memorized!
Dad was a one-of-a-kind special guy and we miss him so much! We know he's in Heaven with Mom, though!

My sincere condolences to the Keck family and extended family and friends.
I was lucky enough to work with George at the SERRF After School program at Olive View School. George always had a smile on his face.
I have two memories that make me smile every time I think of him.
One was when we each took eggs home to boil so the students could dye Easter Eggs the next day. George came to work with eggs that had brown spots all over them. He told me he had been boiling the eggs I gave...

MARINE.

Few, earn the title "United States Marine".
Once earned they are Marines forever.

When they die, their Honor Clean, they stand before Heavens Gate and see two signs, Eternal Peace and "Marines".
Beneath the sign Marines is a path. The Marine follows the path to a Quonset Hut, knocks three times and enters.
Behind a table stand two Marines, Colonel Lewis B. Puller and Sergeant Major Dan Daly.
The SgtMaj. hands the Marine a Quill Pen and...
