Not sure what to say?

My Dad, Warren Auchy Auchenbach played with a George on the Hamilton Redwings in 1940-41. I met George and Ginny many times in Florida and when he was in Philly. A great guy and gentleman.

In the off season George was a high school basketball official in Jefferson County, during the sixties.

The Professor, one of the greatest baseball men ever. RIP

My thoughts and prayers to the family. George is and will be missed my the Cardinals and fans very much.

George was great for baseball and life. His anologies and stories are still remembered and told. His first appearance with me was in Erie Pa., word was he was at the game but we could not find him, we guessed he was on top of a light pole watching us play. He called me Prez, you better come early to see me pitch( It meant I may not last long pitching)
He often bragged about one of his grand sons, he would hit a tire 25 times every morning before school. Always teaching with a story!

To the Kissel family as a boy growing up in Sackets Harbor I was an alter boy and I have
fond memories of George coming to mass everyday
when he was home. God bless your family.

The Kissell family, please accept my deepest sympathies. George took time to work with all who wanted to get better in the game of baseball. I will cherish the memories I had of him while I played briefly with the Cardinals in the mid-90's. I remember first meeting George in Pittsfield, MA and it was one of my first games as a minor leaguer. I can remember the baseball god-like presence he had on me as he spoke to all of us about the ins and outs of the game. The good Lord blessed him with...
