I met George when he was a lifeguard in La Jolla. I was 18, he was 20. We had a lovely summer together and then my parents and I moved back to Ohio. However, 10 years later I returned to San Diego and we married in 1972. Though our marriage didn't last, my love for him has remained. He has always had a place in my heart and he always will. Rest in peace, Bear.

To Georges family and friends We first met George in 2003 on our 3-month vacation on Molokai at Larry Swenson´s House during a party. Larry introduced George to my family because we shared a passion for the ocean, diving, spearfishing and Porsches Since that evening George was a friend to our family. George seemed to like Europeans with a background story. He shared big interested in my dad Jürgen Hermann, as he was the inventor of the diving computer. George loved my mother and younger...

My sympathy's to George's family and friends. He was a really good friend, fellow diver and patient of my late Husband Howard Benedict's. One day back in the 1990's, George drove up to our house in his little porsche coupe and left it running in the street. He ran up to our house with a really large wood hand-carved whale tail he had made and plopped it down in our living room and said "a gift to you Howard" ! He then proceeded to jump back in his little coupe and drive off. Turns out George...
