Just now heard about Dr. Leicht's passing :( What a wonderful man! I will always remember how big his hands were. He delivered our four children (and several miscarriages) and was able to turn turn as needed so that they "came out" correctly at birth. Rest in peace, Dr. Leicht.

On behalf of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, I want to express our sympathy and my personal care and prayers for you, his family. We will be forever grateful for his service to St. John and St. John West Shore Hospitals and his friendship. I am grateful he led the OB/GYN department when we first opened St. John West Shore. He called me "His Lebanese Princess" .

My favorite professional memory was during my very first year in OB practice. I had asked Dr. Leicht to stand by while I delivered a breech twin. I wasn't sure he was even aware that the first baby had delivered. As I was intensely prepared to grasp of the two feet of the breech...

My goodness, George Leicht, M.D., I just thought you were going to stay with us forever, But I guess it was time for you to do the big crossover. You were always there for me in the happy times and all those losses. You and all of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
God bless.
