Not sure what to say?

I met Mr. Lewis in the Camelia Gardens at Descanso. He walked with my aunt who was in a wheel chair. My aunt loved botany. He was a rare person.

Cousin George,

Many thanks for your "gift" of knowledge that you bestowed upon those who were fortunate enough to be in your presence. I will always cherish the time you spent guiding and educating me on the aspects of horticulture and floriculture - especially the orchids. You are now in the company of all the other wonderful Lewis Angels. We will miss and love you always!

Uncle George,

You will be dearly missed. I thank God each day that my two daughters, Salymata and Amina, got to spend time with you last summer. They are so proud to be your great-nieces and will always have wonderful memories of the time they were able to spend with you and Aunt Ruth at her lovely home. You were an inspiration to them.
Love, Nina Williams-Mbengue

I am sad to see the notice concerning the death of George Lewis. He attended North Pamunkey Baptist Church many times when I was the pastor there and we considered him an unofficial member because of his support. The community there has lost a great man and tremendous leader for the area. George was a treasure in the time I knew him.

I worked with George for 20 years at Descanso Gardens in La Canada, Ca. He was a great Superintendant to work for and a good friend. He will be missed.

To The family of
Bro. George H. Lewis,

We were deeply saddened by the loss of our friend Bro. Lewis. We are confident that your loss is heaven's gain and earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. He will be greatly missed.

God Bless you,

To the Lewis family, you are in my prayers for strength and comfort. I did not know Mr. Lewis but I have heard of so many beautiful things that he has accomplished.

Mr. Lewis's kind and gentle manner will always be remembered. God bless you Ruth and family. Heaven is a better place now.
