Not sure what to say?

Dear Phil, This is the message that I wrote in your Christmas card that did not get to you.

We are so saddened of the circumstances of your dear Dad's death. I hope you know what a special guy he was to us. He was the first person I met when Ham first invited me to Fair Haven. Our cooking sessions and all those rides to Syracuse when you and he would meet me in the morning and let me off at Crouse and pick me up after work for the ride home. Uncle George,
Hot Oatmeal with raisins, peanut butter and (of course) Lumps.

Sorry to hear of your loss Phil. I did have the pleasure of meeting your Dad a couple years back over in Fair Haven.

Phil,
Sorry to hear you lost your Dad. I enjoyed him as a neighbor and I was blessed by sharing his last drive around the bay in his boat.

He was easy to talk to and we had a lot of conversations. He will be missed.

Sincerely, Stan Axtell

George was my neighbor many years at
Fair Have and we enjoyed his company and stories.
This is the end of an era for me-he will be missed.

George will always be "Mr. Marks" to me... a man who loved to see the sun rise and set over Fair Haven Bay. He greeted each dey with a smile and each neighbor with a pleasant comment or story. He always shared a tidbit of family lore that was always appreciated. I know that "Mr. Marks" will continue to enjoy the view of Fair Haven Bay from his viewpoint in heaven.

Phil, Tony and I didn't know your father, but he must have been wonderful to have a great son like you. We'll keep you in our thoughts.
