I recall his delightful wit and kindness to his sisters' friends. He was well-regarded in Clarksdale as a brilliant student, a gifted lawyer, and a man of integrity. George Maynard III was a gift to all of us.

He was such a loyal family man. I will remember him when I think of the brilliance and vibrancy he shared with his sisters, Elsie Maynard Milligan, and Lucie Lee Maynard Lanoux, and the rest of his family.

I met Mr. Maynard 37 years ago when I started working for the law firm of Cabaniss Johnston. I remember him in his blue seersucker suit and white shoes and to me he looked like Pat Boone. I have always said that if you looked up southern gentleman you should see a picture of George Maynard. He truly was a brilliant, kind and inspiring man to work with who always had a smile and a good morning for everyone. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
