I hope this gets to the family of George Mayo. I knew George as an orthodontist and was always amazed by his dedication to life-long learning. Later in his career, we were together at a course in California. Went out to dinner at a nice restaurant next to SF Bay. He ordered the Ahi Tuna and it came out seared. He was such a wonderful, kind gentleman and he called the waitress over- "....could you please take this back and finish cooking it. It's too rare for me". No one said a...

My grandson told me about the death of Dr. Mayo. I met him for the first time about 1978. I was referred to him from a dentist in Wilson because of my daughter needing braces. He said he was an orthodontist for children only and thought that would better suit our needs...Was that dentist so right. My daughter and two grandchildren went to Dr.Mayo. They all loved him and my grandson remembered him on his Facebook page. Thanks Dr.Mayo.
