Read MoreI'm sorry I didn't know that Coach Mac had passed. Back in 1971, there was no women's swimming team at SMU. After a few months of training alone, Coach Mac graciously agreed to let me workout with the men's team. He was a great coach, a good sport, and had an upbeat attitude. I am grateful for his generosity and am pleased to see that the new natatorium bears his name.

A couple of years ago someone said that Coach Mac had been ill and suggested contacting him. We had some lunches together and If I had to mention one thing I got from our meetings it would be how important it was to him for one to be on time.
