Not sure what to say?

What a wonderful man. I have so many happy memories of his presence at Mt. Laurel with Copper and his wonderful friendship with my dad. He absolutely loved his retirement residence where I worked briefly while I was caring for dad. He never ever lost his leadership qualities and his kindness and always ask me if we can go gambling (which if he knew the relationship between dad and him)that was a perfectly appropriate question! He was a very kind soul always, and I will never forget him. I...

George added a lot of humor to my life during the years I knew him. I miss the witty emails; I miss his warmth. My husband and I always held him in high esteem. Yes, he was generous and gave in a variety of important ways. Miss you, George.

To George´s Family, This is Patricia Pattillo. George and my husband, Hugh "Pat" Pattillo were classmates and good friends at West Point. The friendship bloomed at West Point and grew stronger through the years. The stories are hilarious and it would take a book to record all the adventures we shared together. George and I remained friends even after my husband´s death. It is with great sorrow that I send my deepest condolences to the family. Sincerely, Pat Pattillo Santa Rosa Beach, FL

George will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. My Dad, Bill O´Connell (Col, USAR ret) was fortunate to have George as his Commanding Officer in Korea, and they maintained their friendship (along with Nancy, my mother, and Anne and then Kaye) until my Dad´s death last year at 93. I have known George since I was a tot, and we continued to communicate after my father´s passing. I was the happy recipient of his witty repartee. Such a kind and joyful man, I feel lucky...

When I came back from Vietnam and was assigned to Ft. McClellan, AL for a few months, George and Anne took me under their wings. They remained GOOD FRIENDS of mine from 1971 until their deaths. George was a friend and mentor to me. so this is a major loss.

Loved George - he was the best! Always friendly, helpful and so so funny. Loved giving each other a hard time:)

What a Lovely Man we had the privilege of knowing in Mt Laurel. We enjoyed each friendly encounter with he and his Bassett Copper. Our deepest condolences to his Family. George was such a wonderful dynamic personality. He was friendly and interested in meeting people and hearing their stories. He and I shared an interest in Meighen family history We shared our stories with one another. In addition, he was a great friend. I will miss him, but I am so glad I had the chance to get to know him. Heaven will be happy to see him. God bless him!
