Read MoreI knew George when he was at General Atomic in San Diego CA. We were both in the LINAC group using those facilities for nuclear physics research. I was surprised that he ended up in VA and I in MD. He was a very competent researcher and a very nice person.

George and I met in 2000 because of our shared interest in accelerator physics. A brief encounter grew into a 15 year friendship that lasted until he retired. He often spoke proudly of his son, Bill, and during the most difficult years when Nancy was moved to the nursing home, George took me there to meet her, too.
