Not sure what to say?

"Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty, through Christ, our Lord. Amen." Mr. Mills began every Geometry class with this classic Catholic pre-meal prayer, explaining it was because he viewed geometry as a meal. He was Exhibit A of a teacher who truly loved what he taught and wanted his students to really grasp and appreciate the material. Outside the classroom, I was blessed by his presence and guidance on service projects in St. Louis and...

Mr. Mills taught our sons at SLUH and led their Urban Challenge experience where the mantra was, "So you say you love the poor, name them." He was an outstanding teacher filled with passion, dedication, care, compassion and a gentle spirit. Even more, he was an outstanding human...making a difference in so many lives which he touched in big and small ways...extraordinary ways. He has left this world a better place and we are so very grateful for his light and love. He was a beacon of hope...

I played basketball with him on the St. Margaret's Senior team. Even though I was in my twenties I called him Mr. Mills. George was our scorer and one game he had the ball and I said loud Mr. Mills so he passed it to me. After the game the rest of the team joked about how to get George to pass the ball to the -- by calling him Mr. Mills. I was blessed having him be apart of my life. RIP Mr. Mills!

In the case of George Mills, I think that not only "may Perpetual Light shine upon him" but that it shined THROUGH him while he lived on earth. Speaking for myself & family, we grew in love of life and creation from knowing him. He was our go to source for canoes & camping advice...and so much more. Praying for you, Mary, and the entire family that you receive all the consolation and support you need. May he rest in peace

So sorry for your loss. I remember so many fun times I had with George in high school. He no doubt was a wonderful husband and father because he started out as a wonderful friend.

I enjoyed the camaraderie I shared with George at SLUH, especially the canoe trips in the Ozarks. His care for his students was inspiring. Blessings to Mary and their family. Love, Jim and Rose Murphy
