George Clinton Mobley passed away on June 2, 2019, at the age of 71 due to health complications from diabetes. George was the son of the late James Clinton and Jean Ellen Everton Mobley. He was one of seven siblings born and raised in the Denver, Colorado area. He graduated from Adams City High School and went on to graduate as a top science student from Utah State University. He also served an LDS mission in Scotland. George was an entrepreneur, inventor and is remembered for his adventurous spirit. George was a passionate man who never shied away from a good debate. He was full of ingenuity; he could fashion scraps into amazing toys and electronic gadgets. In the 1970's, he revolutionized the ticket printing industry by using computers to print numbered tickets for major entertainment and sporting events. George lived his final days in Englewood, Colorado under the care of his sister Janice. He is survived by his four children, Marianne (David), Clinton (Jay), Michele (Patrick), and Melanie. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His life is being celebrated in a number of private family gathering across the globe. In lieu of flowers, George would prefer for everyone to just eat low carb. ;)

Not sure what to say?

George was one of a kind. I first met George back when he and my father were partners at their ticket company. He always challenged me and he had this michevous grin. Even until later years we'd talk occasionally. It didn't matter how old or young you were he always made you feel like you were in league some how with him. Some great memories of him at Spectrum and later in Malad. George was one of those bright stars.

My brother - George, and I have always but heads for as long as I can remember. But, in spite of that, I knew that I could count on him to stand up for me when I needed him to, and he did. While thinking about our growing up years my thoughts turned to my first boyfriend, Dan. Dan always treated me with great respect, I felt like a queen on a pedestal. Dan was also one of George's best friends. While thinking about that I realized that Dan probably treated me that well because my Big...

Love you Dad :( Clinton

I am so sorry to hear that George passed away from that damn diabetes....way too young to leave this world & the hearts of his children & friends ! I knew him in Sandy & he was always rebuilding everything & creating memories with his kids & many friends ! You could count on George to invent something to solve any problem you had & he had the best dry since of humor...I worked for him when he master minded the computer printed ticket business, totally epic ! He's the Dad of our bonus...

My dad was brilliant. He was funny. He was the original MacGyver and a man ahead of his time. The early memories of my dad are fantastic. He went to great lengths to make life fun for my siblings and me. He was all about fun & adventure. We had the first trampoline in the neighborhood, four wheelers, motorcycles (including a mini one) and a full-sized swimming pool in our basement. Our family boated, camped and explored all over the state of Utah. My dad taught me to think outside of the box....

George,

You must have been mortified to have your son-in-law become an IRS agent! It took a little time, but I wised up. I'm so glad I had the good fortune to meet and get to know you. Thanks for showing me what possibility thinking actually is. Limitations (time, money, resources) did not limit you. I've never met your equal in this regard. I often evoke your memory to inspire a change in my attitude from I can't do it to how can I do it. George always seemed to figure out a way. You...
