Mr Montgomery was a special person. We shared the same May 4th Birthday. Also when in the Army I was in the 9th Infantry in Vietnam. His son Mike and I were close friends In high school at West York. About a month ago, I came across some old papers that included my church membership certificate from Second EUB in York from 1960, and I thought of George Montgomery. At that time George was our Sunday School Superintendent. I was 12 years old, and I asked George to be the sponsor I needed to join the church. He graciously agreed. Before going to his funeral I told my younger brother Tom, and he told me that years later George did the same for him. George was a great example of...

A best friend of Mike, Mr Montgomery's son. Story how God used Mr Montgomery to answer a prayer. After a long bike ride to Laruel Lake with friends late fall day I had 2 flat tires and no energy to go back. One car in the whole lot. I prayed that God would help me. Looked down the lot and here was Mr Montgomery. He had me put my bike in his station wagon and brought me back.

Upon reading this obituary Monday morning, I thought to myself, I know George! I believe that his beloved wife was residing at Normandie Ridge several years ago and shared a room with my friend Jean,
Often he would visit his precious wife at the same hour I was visiting Jean.
His love and devotion was a joy to witness. We would exchange pleasantries and it was obvious to all that this thoughtful soul was not only a gentle man, but a "gentleman" also,
