I met George when I entered VCU in 1972 as a jr. From the day I me George he became my mentor in the world of commercial photography. He opened my eyes to the real world of professional photography and the following words have guided me ever since. If you do not understand the rule you cannot break it. George was every bit a part of my becoming the photographer I became. But more so he was my friend. His patience, kindness and generous insights left a mark and encouraged my vision.
