Not sure what to say?

To Mrs. Norton and family,

What a kind and gentle soul Mr. Norton was. It was an honor to know him the few years we did. We pray God's peace and comfort for you all.

Dear George Norton Family,
I am sorry for you loss. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. It was a honor and privilege to play TAPS for Corporal Norton. We thank your father for his service to God, his country and his fellow Americans. Thank you for the opportunity for allowing me to be a part of the service for him.

Laveda, after fifty-eight years of marriage you know what a great man Coach Norton was. But I think it is good for you to hear it from others. I graduated Hueytown in 1961 and still remember brothers Barry and Rufus and the profound influence they were on the lives of students (especially those who kept in touch after graduation). We join you in mourning his passing AND in celebrating a wonderful, exemplary life.

Coach Norton was a tremendous influence in my life - coach, teacher, headmaster and mentor. His truly cared about his students and athletes and led by example. I will miss him.

Mr. Norton was such a sweet man. He was my principal at Bessemer Academy for 12 years. I was truly blessed to know him.

So sorry to read of Barry's death. Will be thinking of you at this time.

Coach Norton lived across the street from me on Woodland Drive when I was a young child. He gave me a gold football pin that I never will forget as a young kid. Also, set a good example as a coach at the old Pittman Jr. High. Lost contact when I moved to Blount County in '67. He will be missed.

Mr. Norton was a strong influence in many lives. He gave us foundation at school that matched our parents. I know that Barry, Jenny , and Mrs.
Norton are so proud!
