Not sure what to say?

Al was a great addition to our faculty in the late sixties and raised our reputation as a School of Music throughout the state, the country, and the world. Not content simply to teach and perform standard percussion instruments, he encouraged the composition and performance of new music, co-founded the Electric Stereopticon, and founded the NIU Steelband Ensemble along with the first degree in steepan in America. His administrative skills qualified him into the exercise of new and welcome...

So sorry for your loss. Prayers.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Al was the best brother you could have. He was 5 years older than me but always treated me with respect and was always there to lend me a helping hand. I was really happy when Al joined our Cape Cod Golf Group were we shared many good times and fond memories. He was an extremely talented musician with great teaching skills and a visionary in the musical world. I feel he was always be with me and I will miss him dearly.
Love you Al,

Al was one of the best teachers I could have, or that anyone could have. His compassion for what he did was undeniable. I was so fortunate to be one of his students for four years. He will be missed. Best wishes to Judy and the family.

Al was such a great person, great family man, great musician, and great neighbor. The NIU Steelband is such a wonderful legacy and gift to the NIU community. Prayers to Judy and the rest of the family.
