George will be greatly missed, especially his sharp mind and gentle wit. Each graduate student that he advised, he made them a better scientist by challenging them to think critically. George,Thank You.

So sorry to hear of George's unexpected passing. Such a wonderful man and advisor to me at UF. He will be missed by many friends and family.

George was the best possible advisor or me. Carol and George were a great team for our crew of graduate students. Not a day goes by that I do not use the lessons George taught. He has also been a friend for almost 30 years. I will miss his thoughtful advice and candid conversations.

I will miss George's intelligent, witty comments, and kindness. He was fun to be with and I always learned something from George. He had a way of being totally attentive when speaking to you, thus making you feel important. Whatever he undertook, George did it well.
