GEORGE E. PAYNE

George was an avid fisherman. Here he is with his friend Gordon and a very big fish they caught at Greenwood Lake, NY on March 16, 1991.

Congratulations to my Dad and fellow scouts Earl Roig and Thomas Jenkins who were promoted to the rank of Eagle Scout on December 9, 1943. A year later, their friends Wallace Hall, William Kucklick and Richard Utley also achieved this honored rank. They were all members of Boy Scout Troop 201 of Olmsted Falls, Ohio.

My Dad was a great story teller and could have easily told about his successes on the playing field or in business, but the tales that were dearest to him involved those friends that became his spiritual brothers and sisters. Having grown up as an adopted child without any siblings, he relished the opportunity of having friends with whom he could share his life and look to for guidance and camaraderie. My Dad always smiled when he reminisced about childhood friends, high school and college...

Thank you for your unconditional love and the unforgettable memories that you created. I've truly been blessed to have had you in my life.
