George William Pennebaker, 85, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Monday, January 2, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on April 11, 1926 in Owensboro to the late James and Jessie Pennebaker. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and was a charter member of The Immaculate Catholic Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Mattingly Pennebaker; a son, Timothy Pennebaker; two sisters, Frances Marie Fisher and Carol Livney and a brother, Thomas W. Pennebaker. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Myra Pennebaker; two sons, Thomas E. Pennebaker (Donna R.) and Joseph W. Pennebaker both of Lexington, KY; a grandson, Thomas Scott Pennebaker (Brittany) of Lexington, KY and a sister, Ruth Jagolinger of Arizona. Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012, at The Immaculate Church, 2516 Christie Place, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00-9:30 a.m. on Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, where prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
