I loved being around Uncle George when he was in town visiting my mom (his sister Marian). I went to Iowa for a visit when Elmo couldn't go years ago and got to spend some time with him. Uncle George was funny and he aways made me laugh. When I was a kid he found out I was collecting coins from all the countries we were visiting in Europe so he brought me some coins from South Africa to add to my collection. He will be missed by all that loved him.

We were fortunate that George became part of our lives and took on a ready made family with three children. He was loved by his children and many grandchildren. He was devoted to seeing to the care of his wife Doris and labored hard on her behalf. He worked daily at our office, except Sundays, until a stroke prevented him from doing so. He was well respected and held in high regard by his coworkers. George did not hesitate to volunteer to serve his country and he participated in in the D-Day...
