GEORGE EDWARD PETERSMARCK ~~ NATIVE DETROITER Mr. Petersmarck, age 92, died on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. He was born on October 5, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Helen Brock Petersmarck. He had been a resident of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and a former resident of Clinton Township, and Detroit. Education: Mr. Petersmarck was a graduate of St. Vincent Elementary School, Holy Redeemer High School, and the University of Detroit. Occupation: He was a retired Police Officer (Sergeant) with the City of Detroit having served 25 years. He then was Office Manager with Fisher, Franklin & Ford Law Firm in downtown Detroit. Mr. Petersmarck loved sports, both as a player and as a spectator, and he also loved to fish and hunt. He was a great fan of card games and could play any game, and very well. Mr. Petersmarck was a very devout Catholic - devoted to his religion, but without being obvious. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Deceased Wife of almost 67 years: Mary Elizabeth Cooney Petersmarck, deceased June 26, 2009 Surviving Sons: George, Jr. (Robin) and Edward (Carol) Grandchildren: Melissa Cleary (John), George, III, Kristen Nagle (Brian), Stephanie, Edward, Jr. (Krisstin), and Alexander Great-grandchildren: Luke, Sydney, Edward, III, Allison, and Caroline Surviving Sister-in-law: Frances Cooney Visitation: Friday, August 20, 2010, from 3-8 PM at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI 48084 (between Maple and Big Beaver Roads) with an evening Rosary Service at 7 PM Funeral Mass: Saturday, August 21, 2010 - 10:00 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 12509 Nineteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan, with Reverend Eugene Simon officiating. Visitation at church begins Saturday at 9:30 AM.
