My husband and I moved to Westchester 30 years ago. In our search for the perfect community, we walked into Mitchell's Hardware. George Sr. was talking to several customers as though they were friends. People were just hanging out sharing stories. We immediately felt the closeness and the love. Thinking about my good buddy, George A. Phillips, who passed away recently after a long bout with cancer. George was an artist pool/billiards cue-maker, and a great one pocket player. He never failed to be there for me through thick and thin, and his wry humor never failed to bring a smile to my face.
