I am sorry to hear that Mr. Probert has passed away. Although I only had the honor of playing with and learning from Papa George a few times (via Camp Heebie Jeebies and the Johnny Mac Band in Great Falls, MT) his warmth, humor, and unparalleled musicianship made a life long impact on me. Now that I am a music teacher myself I often think back on the lessons and "George-isms" he shared. My favorite of which was "shut up and practice!"
