I remember Mr. Putnam from my days at Shore Country Day School were his son George III was one of my friends. Over the years as CEO of The Salem Witch Museum I had the chance to see and speak to him at various Peabody Essex Museum gatherings...he was always engaging and interested in what was going on in our community.
I want his family to know that I care!

George we had the opportunity to meet a long time ago in your Boston office, I regret not taking the job offer after graduation. That opportunity is forever in my memory. Peaceful rest old man, you will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers, Sincerely, David Parrella

I'm so sad to learn of George's passing. He was always so nice, so wise, and so down to earth. He was very generous and helpful to WGBH, where I worked for many years.

So sad to read of Mr Putnams death. He was such a great down-to-earth person. I got to know him and wife Nancy during their stays in Seal Cove on Mount Desert Island, Maine.

My condolences to Nancy and the family. God bless you all.

My condolences for the Putnam
family. It is very encouraging to hear about a St Marker that achieved in life so highly goals and that also had time to serve and give back its knowledge to the community. A strong example to all of us.

We will miss his presence on MDI and appreciate all he & Nancy did for the Backside Regatta an irreverent institution on MDI.

A truly remarkable man whose life embraced so much enduring success in whatever he did, but all undertaken with good humour, modesty, understatement and common sense

May God bless and comfort grieving ones as he R.I.P.
