Not sure what to say?

Dear Dad, It has now been twenty years since you passed. This anniversary is special as in the year 2025 you would have been one hundred years old. Thus, there are two significant events this year. But, I will always remember you no matter what. Love from your son, Matthew G. Rhodes

Today is what would have been the 100th birthday of George H. Rhodes. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 4th, 1925, a man of modest means. But, through hard work and his own talents, he accomplished much more in life than his circumstances dictated. As his son, I am tremendously proud of him and I wish he were here to celebrate this day. But, my dad will always live on in my memory.

George was one of my most trusted friends! We worked together at IBM in Pittsburgh. Very glad to hear that he is still hought of.

My best,
Buzz Hanson [email protected]

Rest in Peace, dear father. We remember your life and passing, ten years later.
Love, your son, Matthew G. Rhodes

On the tenth anniversary of my dad's passing, we recognize his accomplishments. George H. Rhodes was an innovator in his own life, always "taking the bull by the horns" so to speak. He did things his own way. I respect that, for it takes a big man to do what he wants, despite the opinions of others.
My dad didn't achieve his success in aviation alone, however. He had the help of numerous friends, and certainly, my long suffering mother. I would also like to recognize two people who...

George Rhodes, the Don Quixote of the Mayfield Heights Republicans, leaves a memory of high-spirited life in pursuit of his dreams to reality. His vivid parades in a red, highly decorated convertible portrayed his cavalier attitude as well as a call to let people know what he stood for. His banners he carried high. His life was full to the brim. He lived it with loyalty and a sincerity that belied his challenges along the way.
His spirit was joie de vivre and always George was a...

I will long remember my friendship with George. We served at IBM in Pittsburgh, PA in the late 50's. He visited our home in St. Petersburg, FL several times. He remembered my birthday for many yesrs and spoke many times on the phone. He often spoke of Matt and Jeni.I would love to hear from any surviving ole IBM guys. Our best: Sincerely, Buzz & Gloria Hanson.

Indefatigueable! Uniquely energetic! Unstoppoable! Courageous!

Just a few of the adjectives that apply to our friend George.

George showed up at the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce office many years ago and life was never quite the same. We never knew when he would next appear and what mission he would be on. He should be named an honorary Mariettan for his love of our city.

In later years, accompanied by friend Mitch, he continued his visits and...

I too, met George through politics. His tenacity, honesty and the fearless way he articulated his beliefs will always be in my memory (and other's memories too, I am sure.)

George is testament to the truth that politics still works in America through those who follow their own convictions and not those of others.
