George was a true gentleman. George and I traveled to Nashville for an NSAI songwriters' conference in April of '98. Several tornadoes came through the city that day. I remember him being so protective, and concerned about getting me back to my family safely. He was an encourager, and helped me with my confidence in writing and performing. George and Mrs. Donna were a blessing to the Mobile songwriting family.
