Roth, George John age 86, of Edina. George was born May 5, 1922. His father Joseph was an immigrant from Weissenberg, Bavaria, who became a grocer in Detroit. His mother, Bertha Sohn, was from a family of Lutheran theologians, educators and musicians in and around Frankenmuth, Michigan. He was a moving consultant with Boyd Mayflower and later, Metcalf Mayflower. He served as organist and choir director in many Lutheran Churches and touched countless lives. Survived by wife, Elaine; children, Cheryl (Ken) Oestermeyer, John Roth (Rev. Diane) and Christine Manz; grandchildren, Justin and Spencer Roth, Jon Oestermeyer, Suzanne Caldun and Alexis Oneca; five great- grandchildren. Funeral service Friday 11:00 AM at Woodlake Lutheran Church, 7525 Oliver Ave. S., Richfield. Interment Dawn Valley. Visitation Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., and 1 hour prior to service at church. Memorials to Woodlake Church.
