Not sure what to say?

Here we are again deep into Advent and once again I’m thinking about Father Ruof and his annual Christmas story- his gift to us. Trinity Church Hamburg was blessed.

I am so sorry to hear about your father. I went all through Sunday school back, in the 50's,and I always have remembered how special it was for your dad to come over to the children's section, and say something special to us. He made me feel important, as he did everyone. My prayers go out to your family. Linda Cain Langan

So sorry for your loss, Peter. Although I have never met your father, I feel he must have been an extraordinary person - especially as your Dad. I know that you have many wonderful memories that will always give you comfort and a lasting ember of love. your Friends - Barbara and Alex Druzbik

My condolences to the family. I fondly remember Father Ruof.

I have many fond memories of Father Ruof while he was at Trinity Episcopal in Hamburg. What a positive influence on all of us. The Christmas stories were classics

Father Ruof truly serves as the example of a life well lived. He has had a profound influence on my life, growing up at Trinity Episcopal, in Hamburg, NY. The beautiful Christmas stories every year, the fellowship, the wisdom, and the example of faith and grace, and the genuine love for his parishoners... many wonderful memories. I could hear his voice, as I read Jim Lyon's post of Father Ruof's closing of each service. That "we be of good cheer, and hold fast and steady to that which is...

I have fond memories of Father Ruof from my youth at Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamburg NY. He always had a sparkle in his eye, a smile to share, and uplifting stories to tell. He was a wonderful teacher. My sincere condolences to the family.

I was an acolyte for Father Ruof in my high school years in Hamburg, NY during the late 1960s.
What a great honor it was for me to spend time with Father Ruof. He was a very special person who helped me make it into adulthood.
I particularly recall warmly his inspirational Christmas stories each year.
May he and Margaret, with whom I also spent an important period of my life, rest in peace.
Much love to all of their family.

Father Ruof will always be a special part of my life, he was a friend to my Father and Mother, and a true tower of strength and compassion to me when each of them died. Before that, he was a powerful speaker of Christmas sermons that made you feel you were at the manger, a man of great humor, uplifting attitude and sparkle in his eye. He loved his family, and so many in Hamburg, and was loved back in full measure. I'm sure it was the same in California, and now in Heaven. Love and prayers...
