Not sure what to say?

Barbara - Laureen and I want express our deepest sympathies to you and your family. I can't find the words to express how much I enjoyed having both you and George as members of the Bethel Choir during the years I served as music director. You were always dedicated and could be counted on. This Sunday, December 18, we will particularly remember George because we are doing our annual Lessons and Carols service at Trinity Episcopal in Phoenix. After the service Laureen is doing the...

Barbara and Family, I'm saddened to learn of your loss. At the same time, I find joy in having known George through my volunteer work with Beaverton SD, and later through our mutual enjoyment of music, worship and friends.

David and I met Mr. Russell when we first moved to Beaverton. Linda was so kind to include us in their family gathering during the holidays. I enjoyed his sense of humor and appreciated his quiet strength. A very special man.

Mr. Russell was our principal at Sunset High School. I was in the class of 1962, the first class to go all four years at Sunset. We dedicated the year book my senior year to Mr. Russell and Mr. Titus, the Activity Director, "a pair of optimists". They were both very special men and helped make my high school years unforgettable. I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Russell's passing. Our 50th high school reunion is scheduled for this July and I was hoping to see him there. My thoughts are...

I was a teacher in Beaverton School District when George was Assistant Superintendent and even thought he was administration, he was an advocate and strong supporter of teachers. We loved and appreciated his expertise, knowledge and always his consideration. He was greatly missed when he left. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

George was my math teacher at Sherwood High in 48-49-50. I have many fond memories of his class and story telling. We could ask a question relating to the Navy and get him talking the whole period and never get back to math. His influence made me join the Navy in July, 1950 at the outbreak of the Korean War. Later years when my wife was teaching at Beaverton High, I had occasion to meet George again. He was a great guy and I am proud to have known him.

Barbara and family, I was saddened to hear of George's passing. George was an unbelievable friend and mentor. He interviewed me in 1960 and offered me a position at Sunset. It was the best move of my career. My thoughts and prayers are with you
