SADLER, George Hagood, age 82, of Midlothian, Va., died on Saturday, May 30, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Sadler was a very proud WWII combat army veteran. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He enjoyed sharing his abundant summer gardens with all. He was retired from the American and U.S. Tobacco Companies. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Sadler; his sons, George Sadler Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Steve Sadler and his wife, Vickie, Doug Sadler and his wife, Angela; his grandchildren, Samantha, Trey, William and Brittany Sadler; stepgranddaughters, Mandy Lashley and Morgan Bishop; his sister, Virginia Williams. He cherished his devoted friends throughout his lifetime and appreciated their care and concern for him and his family to the end of life's journey. The Sadler family wishes to thank the staff at Virginia Cancer Institute as well as the caring staff at Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital for their comforting care. As Mr. Sadler would always say, "Just do what you got to do. His remains rest at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be considered to the American Cancer Society.
