George and Mary Jane were very dear to Eric and I. Our times boating in Alaska will not be forgotten by me. Now, Dennis and I will miss their Yuma visits on their trips to Texas to bird watch. Our thoughts are with you Mary Jane in this difficult time. Hugs, Bette

My parents, Fred and Alberta, and I knew Mary Jane and George through the Chief Seattle Council, BSA. Their dedication and friendly attitudes made it easy to enjoy time with them. George will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mary Jane.

George has been my inspiration in mountaineering since 1951. I know of very few people who have led a more productive life dedicated to the outdoors. The mountaineering world will miss him very much.
