Not sure what to say?

My parents, Alice and Oliver Cavett, owned Spring Valley Country Club. Belt Line and Preston Roads were 2-lane blacktops. Salih's was there! My birthday dinner of choice was always ribs from Salih's. I sighed when the name changed to Solly's. I cried when it closed and still use the big red iced tea glasses I purchased on the last day. Now I will mourn the passing of Mr. Salih and send a prayer for the family. Here's to a life well-lived!

Dallas and our country has lost a find man and citizen. My condolenses go to John and Lee Ann and Family. Patsy and my prayers are with you.

Never knew Mr. Salih personally but i did grow up with his son Jim. If Jim is any indication of his father he was truly a great man. Loved the BBQ. Never could get enough. My prayers are with your family kind sir. Rest in Peace.

I lived across the street from the Salih family, as we grew up. My favorite place was Salih's Barbeque! George and Helen were very special people. Mr. Salih (as I knew him) always made us feel special whether we were eating at his restaurant or just out in the yard. I was blessed to have known him. He will be missed!

Uncle George was a favorite of mine as I grew up and spent time with him and my Aunt Helen. I will miss him but his mark on my life will live forever. He was a great example of giving love and care with a smile the whole time.

You will be truly missed!

I started out eating the fries after school every day in Preston Center. I always enjoyed George's smile and the care he put into his restaurant. I religiously went to the new location and to this day yearn for the cole slaw and potato salad. Your dad was a great restauranteer and a great loss to all Dallas barbecue fans!

My sincerest sympathies go to your family - we will never forget the great barbeque at Salih's.
Love, Cathy Berry Hall
