George was always smiling and welcoming. He continually showed a sincere interest in his friends and their family members, and was always inquiring about the well being of our children and grandchildren. He was very supportive of the Charlottesville Church of the Brethren and its constituents, helping wherever and whenever he was physically able. We are so sorry to hear about George. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. We really liked him and all of his family; Barbara, David, Michael and Mark. We have all fond memories of our time as neighbors in Airport Acres for many years as our kids grew up together in the 60's and 70's. All of our kids also send their condolences. I will miss George. He was a father figure, a co-worker, a close friend and a shining light. There wasn’t a day George didn’t bring goodness into the world with a heart full of kindness and grace, a true gentleman in all respects. It’s difficult to see a person so full of life go to our Heavenly Father, but I celebrate George’s life and cherish the legacy he leaves. God bless.

Prayers to the family. Mr Shipp was a wonderful man! Our son purchased his family home on Tom's Road. He would stop and visit and share stories of his childhood. He was so sweet.
