Not sure what to say?

I knew George in college and saw him frequently during the summers when he worked as an ice cream man. Sometimes, he left pretzels in my parents' mailbox as it was on his route. He was a truly good guy, and it's sad to hear of his passing.

I met George in Rocky Hill, CT in 1980 and we remained friends, despite distance, for over thirty years. He and his wife Joy visited me here in Paris, and I was hoping he would win this battle over his serious illness. he will remain forever one of my most trusted friends. Everyone who knew, and later on, especially his students appreciated him for his remarquably bright intelligence and great spirit. May he be an inspiration to all of us. My deepest condoleances to his family. Janet Greenberg

Dr. Shore was my mentor at Temple University. I have two classes with him during my freshman and sophomore year; I cannot believe he is gone and I miss him a lot. He was a great man and a great teacher; the last time I saw him was in April of 2011. I just cannot get over the fact that he is gone. My prayers and thoughts are with Mrs. Shore and her children's. Rest in Peace Dr. Shore!

George and I were friends for over 30 years. I know he turned to me for advice at numerous times in his life and I trust I offered him sage advice. More importantly, he stood beside me during the darkest moments of my life and I will always remeber that.
May you always rest in peace, my dear friend.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I was Joanna's roommate in college & although I only met George once at her wedding, I remember the goodness in him. May the Lord carry you. Joanne Hagn

Joy,

I am sorry for your loss.

It seems like only a moment ago that we met in New York at the post reunion gathering of the Johnson Class of '79. I will always remember George in Ithaca as the one for whom everything was new and bright and wonderful. He was a blessing in my life.

I am so sorry that George is no longer with us. George and I shared four years at Dickinson College, class of 1977 and then two more years at Cornell, class of 1979. We had a great visit about 10 years ago at a Dickinson reunion.
George's passing is a reminder that this adventure we call life is so fleeting. For George's family, remember the good times and live life to its fullest.

I haven't seen or talked with George in 33 years since Cornell. I tried to phone him recently when Art Snyder told me about his struggle but I assumed he never got the voice message or was too weak to call back . . . or maybe forgot who I was.
Anyway, I must tell you that George and I had some good laughs together while at Cornell. I remember him as one of those rare positive spirits of whom life needs many more.
I am sorry that he is no longer around and my warm condolences go...
