TIM WAS A GREAT GUY, I HELPED HIM ON HIS AMERICAN FLYER TRAIN LAYOUT PUTTING TRACK ON IT AND WIRING THE TRACK UP AND BUILDINGS WE HAD A BLAST TOGETHER. HE ALWAYS HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMUR AND MADE ME LAUGH ALOT. HE WILL BE MISSED I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER TIM.

I noticed with mild curiosity the overwhelming numbers of young companions of Tim Simon who responded to his shared memories guest book. As David Guterson showed in his award winning book, "Snow Falling on Cedars", bonds of early youth are vivid, timeless and enduring. Tim, you will always be with us.

It was always fun having a conversation with Tim, usually in person or, more often over the last two years, over the phone(minimum time for a phone call with Tim was about an hour). The special part of any dialog with Tim was always the story(s) that Tim would tell. Always a story - Tim was a story teller - a great one. His points of view( he had them for sure), his recollections, his reflections on life; always punctuated with a story, usually from his own experience. His story telling was...

My deepest condolences,Tim and I shared our early years as he was my close neighbor on South Blvd in Maple Heights as well as a classmate in high School. We mostly connected later on in later years at the MHHS 1960 class reunions.
We also reconnected several years ago at his house while I was visiting Cleveland to see the impressive model railroad that he had built in the basement. It was at this time that he mentioned that I was a major factor in his getting into the hobby....

So much can be said about Tim, and I must say what a scholar and musician he was! He won the Broadway spelling bee while he was in 5th grade (Dennis Anderson was 2nd) and when at Maple Heights High he was #1 in his class, one year for history and the next year for English. After college, he became an outstanding attorney with a stellar legal career.
