George Sprague Obituary

KILLINGWORTH, MIDDLEFIELD >> George S. Sprague, 85, of Killingworth died at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown on Sept. 5, 2013. George will be lovingly missed by his beloved wife, Dorothy A. (Sullivan) Sprague; his daughter Patricia Brayshaw of Middlefield; his stepsons, Brad Megahan of Ellicott City, MD. and Donald B.Megahan of Hermatige, TN; and his six grandchildren. From 1970 to 1989 George co-owned Hillcrest Masonry until his retirement. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Day Spring Lodge in Hamden. George had a love of the ocean, yard work, and the outdoors. He also was a competitive stationary rower and avid bike rider. He was a history buff, but most of all a dedicated grandfather. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Killingworth Congregational Church, 273 Route 81 in Killingworth. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Killingworth. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be made to the Killingworth Congregational Church Kitchen Renovation Fund.
