Not sure what to say?

I knew George through Syracuse University Alumni funcitons, most notably the annual Minnowbrook weekend. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him.

George was a great man whose contributions to Syracuse University, Alpha Chi Rho and the entire Syracuse community will live on. The kindness that George and Margaret showed me as a fraternity Brother 40 years his junior will always remain one of the fondest memories of my time at SU. My condolences to his family.

I remember Mr Stafford very fondly for the selfless participation and contributions he made to the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity house at Syracuse University. Your Brothers will miss you.

George was so welcoming to our friends from Sweden who joined his neighborhood for a short stay in the United States. His kindnesses were always mentioned. We send our condolences to the family.

Am very sorry to hear of George's passing. He worked for many years to make the Minnowbrook Conference a success. I had many conversations with him as a member of the Syracuse Alumni Club of CNY and respected him for all his work for Syracuse University. He and Bill Phipps who passed away last year were two of my closest friends at SU and I will miss him greatly. Raymond Cerio

My deepest sympathies to the family. George and Margaret were great friends and neighbors to my parents and all of our family.

George was one of the first people that I met when I joined St.Paul's Episcopal Cathedral. He always greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly hello. He walked me to my car after coffee at church and after First Friday dinners to be sure that I got there safely. He was a true gentleman. I am glad that I met George. I extend my sincere sympathy to his family and friends and pray that he will rest in peace.

Mr. Stafford was one of the greats. He was always interested in his neighbors and the neighborhood. He will be sorely missed. My sympathy to his nieces and all who loved him.

Peg and George were the quintessential lady and gentleman. To those of us who knew them, the world is a better place because they were here. They personified excellence in education, gentle civility, keen humor and genuine kindness. Rest in peace.
